James Justice Benefit Account

How do you even start a post like this? I have no idea.

What I do know is that a friend lost her husband in Afghanistan this past weekend. I know that there’s a three-year-old girl who will grow up learning her dad was a true hero.

Watching all of the people reaching out to his family is incredibly humbling. I’m posting this hoping we can put all that energy to good use.

With Aviva, Amanda’s friend and coworker, Jessica, has set up a fund for her and Caydence at Veridian. To contribute, you can send a check to:

Veridian Credit Union
James Justice Benefit Account
5910 University Avenue
West Des Moines, IA 50266

Branch Phone 515-289-1822

There is also a Bank of Iowa account that has been set up in Manilla (which I don’t have any info on) but I know that the Veridian account has Amanda as an owner. Regardless of where you send it, I’m sure it will be put to good use.

I spent about a half hour tonight untangling a necklace James brought back from Egypt. He brought Amanda and I both these necklaces with our names written in¬†hieroglyphics. You know he’s a sweet guy when he thinks to bring back something for his girlfriend and her friend (and manages to spell her roommate’s name correctly). I remember the hilarious video he and his buddies sent her while there. All the girls crowded around the tv in our sorority house to watch. I also remember the request from his buddies for a video in return of a pillow fight at said sorority house ;)

Manda – I know you’ll read this at some point and I hope you don’t mind me broadcasting it. There’s no amount of money that can fix this but here’s to hoping you never have to mow the lawn or shovel snow again (or whatever will make life easier!). AOE from all the Phis.
